Frequently Asked Questions: Agents and Brokers
I list REO properties, why should I use prelisting.com?
How would you like a list of 2, 5, 10 or more qualified buyers interested in
your listing that you (or your buyer specialists) could contact on the first day
your property is listed? If you're not marketing your pre-listings on
prelisting.com you are wasting valuable marketing time. Use prelisting.com
to sell your listings faster, generate an organized list of leads for your
buyer's agents/specialists, represent more transaction sides, and make your
asset managers love you for your quick turn around of their assets!
I do NOT list REO properties, why should I use this site?
How many times have you lost the opportunity to work with a buyer because
they called the listing agent directly and wrote up an offer without you?
By joining prelisting.com as an agent you'll be notified each time a prelisting
that one of your clients has saved is listed and available to receive offers.
If you join as a premium member you'll be able to see your clients'
"watch-list". Whether you join as a standard or a premium member you will
be able to invite your clients to prelsting.com - making sure that when they
come to the site they are associated with you and not another agent!
I do NOT list REO properties...how can I help my clients that are using this
site?
Become a member! Once you're a member then invite your clients to the
site or ask them to add your name and email to their profile as their agent so
you can be notified of changes to properties that they are interested in!
I have short sale and conventional listings, can I use prelisting.com for
those properties?
Absolutely! You can post properties on prelisting.com after they're listed
just make sure you accurately indicate the status. If you have a fully
executed listing contract for your property just post the property with "active"
status. If you're posting a property that will be a short sale or a
conventional/individual seller, we recommend that you post it on prelisting.com
as soon as possible to start generating leads and interest. For best results on
short sales, post the property on prelisting.com while gathering the required
documentation from your sellers. Once you list it in your local MLS just
change the status to "active" and all interested parties will receive an
automatic email notification that the seller has committed to his/her asking
price and is ready to entertain offers. property before it is listed
I have a property I want to advertise on prelisting.com but I already have
it listed in my MLS, can I still post it on prelisting.com?
Yes! You can post properties on prelisting.com if they're already listed.
Just make sure you accurately indicate the status as "active" when you first
post it.
Is this the same as IDX? How is it different?
This is NOT the same as IDX. Websites that use IDX show you properties
that are already listed in a local or regional MLS. The properties you'll
find on prelisting.com start out as "prelistings" and are not yet officially
listed for sale. Once the sellers are ready to officially place the home
for sale the status here will change from "prelisting" to "active" indicating
that the property is not listed by an agent and will most likely also be
available in a local MLS.
